Why we made it

Making a word search for a class or a rainy afternoon should take a minute. Instead the tools that do it are mostly twenty years old, hidden behind a signup, capped at three puzzles a month, or they stamp a logo across the page you were about to photocopy thirty times.

So we built the version we wanted: type your words, pick your options, download a clean PDF. That is the whole product.

How it works

Every puzzle here is generated by your own browser. There is no server that builds them, which means there is no upload, no queue, no account and nothing of yours sitting in a database. It is also why the site is instant and why it costs us almost nothing to run, which is what lets it stay free.

Who it is for

Teachers, parents, homeschoolers, ESL tutors, party hosts, church groups and activity coordinators in care homes. Which means the people actually solving the puzzles are often young children or older adults, so the whole site is built for them too: big targets, big type, strong colour, and printed sheets that are easy on the eye.

What it costs

Nothing, and there is no paid tier waiting behind a button. Make one puzzle or five hundred. The puzzles you make are yours to use however you like, including in a classroom and commercially. See the terms for the short version of that, and the privacy policy for what little we do collect.
