What makes these mazes hard?
How far a wrong turn takes you before it dies. On our Hard setting a wrong branch runs ten squares on average and up to sixty, so you cannot rule it out at a glance, and the correct route wanders across about 42 percent of the grid. Easy mazes are not just smaller, their dead ends give up after about five squares.
Can I make them harder still?
Yes. Drag the size slider up to 30 squares across, which is the largest that still prints cleanly on one page. Hard at 30 across is a proper sit-down puzzle.
